Dubai Post 37: A Nice Change of Pace
Ozair and I at Wild Wadi over looking Burj Al Arab. |
It has now been over a month since I started my adventure in
Dubai and I finally had a weekend to relax.
Since I have gotten here, I have been constantly on the move either
traveling for work, for pleasure or touring around the UAE. This was the first weekend where I had no
real plans and it was fantastic.
I spent most of the weekend in the scorching sun. On Friday I laid out by the pool before
heading to an Australian surf bar to meet a few coworkers. On Saturday I went to the famous Wild Wadi
waterpark in the morning and then laid out on the beach for a few hours. I also managed to work out, make dinner and
do laundry to have some sort of resemblance of a normal life.
Hanging out at the beach with the Burj in the background. |
Relaxing in the sun and grabbing a few drinks at night was
exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries for June. I have multiple trips planned to Saudi
Arabia, a trip to Nepal and a holiday in Ras Al Khaimah, therefore catching up
on sleep and rest was a must. Looking
out into the future, I doubt I get a weekend like this again until I am home in
Chicago.
P.S. A congrats to all of my co-workers who completed the CFA exam on Saturday. All the hard work and dedication will most surely pay off in the long run.
One good thing about the heat is many people stop going to the beach. |
